now that handhelds are starting to become 3D powerhouses, they still have one fatal flaw, none of them have analog controls, seriously, would we play our 3D console games with a D pad? Hell no....

just a thought.

The PSP has an analog stick. It is said that it's not exactly a good one, but it is there.

I prefer using a d pad over analog any day.

And the psp has one.

hmm it's a start, i had no idea btw, hope it works.

you just can't control 3D racers, FPSs, adventure games worth a damn with a d pad IMO.

For Ridge Racer on the psp I hope you have the ability to use the d-pad.

Also for Halo 2 I would have like to be able to use the d-pad instead of the left analog stick like in the first one.

The touch screen works better than any analog stick could as far as FPS games go. Analog play on an FPS really kills it for me, which is probably why the only FPS games I've ever really played are either console easy (Goldeneye, Metroid Prime) or on my PC. I was amazed with how easily I could play the Hunters demo thanks to the touch screen on the DS. In addition, the touch screen has the ability to allow for analog control, such as in Mario 64. It isn't as good as the analog stick would have been, but it is certainly a vast improvement over using the D-Pad.
