Where are these figures from?
The units sold figures seem very low for some reason.

They are official NPD numbers. They are accurate. These figures are low compared to the other new software that was released but they aren't low for SNK. Their games just don't sell. What can I say?

WOW.........KOFMI is making $$$ :multi_co:

Actually, it's not. A post of SVC Chaos has made almost half of what MI brought in. The sales for the 2k1 & 2 combo pack are atrosciously low.

The double pack came out a year ago. It's the 2000/2001 combo pack.

I think that is only for the actual month of Oct, not cumulative up until and including the month of Oct.

Well, I'd say nearly a million bucks in sales for 12 days is nothing to scoff at, regarding MI.

hmmm here is the breakdown.

$14,770 in revenue
703 copies sold = 21 dollars in revenue for each copy sold

PS2 KOF: MAXIMUM IMPACT
$940,271 in revenue
19,311 copies sold = 48 dollars in revenue for each copy sold

XBX METAL SLUG 3
$77,472 in revenue
2,176 copies sold = 35 dollars for each copy sold

XBX SNK VS CAPCOM: CHAOS
$688,659 in revenue
14,196 copies sold = 48 dollars for each copy sold

I guess MI and SVC were priced similarily while the other two had price differentials.

Other then that makes u think what a game like GTA SA made with over 2.2 million sales in its first week on the ps2.

actually here are the revenues based on the SNK price model.

2200000 x 48 = 105 600 000

Well there u have it folks... rockstar games made over a hundred million in its first week. not bad at all for a bunch of americans

You' also would need to subtract (marketing costs) from that as well. gta sa was advertised a lot more than any of those SNK releases.

Oh i realize this... However im just using the snk model and dont really feel like putting together a bunch of marketing figures. However i would say they still are going to make far more then a 100 million in revenue by christmas time if not already.

Needless to say, they are probably making smaller margins on each disk they sell, versus the old AES carts, however their volume has picked up considerably.

I hope they make it as a company.

That's really a shame that SVC outsold the shit out of Metal Slug 3. :oh_no:

Amen. It blows my fucking mind...arguably the worst fighter they ever made, and it outsells one of the best action-shooter games if all time. Sad as hell.

It's also quite sad that SvC is the first SNK-related ANYTHING to support online play.
Doubly sad.

it's not all that sad and it doesn't blow my mind. Metal Slug 3 on the X-Box wasn't as good as the original or the PS2 import, in my honest opinion. if your continues run out, you start over and the "extras" that are mentioned were on the PS2 version nearly a year before that (the "extra" levels or whatever the hell they call them). people also want decent fighting games for the X-Box, so they saw an opportunity to own a new Street Fighter game with a few SNK characters thrown in. ;)

back to the Metal Slug 3 thing......the fact that they claim it's "only on X-Box" is fucking laughable.

i guess Metal Slug 3 on Neo Geo AES/MVS and PS2 import were just rumors.

Well, it is only on X-box in America. I don't think they took the MVS/AES into consideration as its a port, and not a new game.

These figures are actually really good - remember KOFMI was released halfway october, so should manage at least 40.000 copies. The KOF package is really old,
Metal Slug 3 is quite old too, and it isn't exactly a game that would appeal to most trashy DOA obsessed xbox players.
And since all SNK released that were "banned" in the US for PS2 will be released in Europe soon (why the hell are they allowed there and not here?!) - SNK is doing some pretty good business.

xbox MS3 > PS2 one because of the online scoreboard. I just play one credit until I die, so I don't care about the continue system. If I want to go through the game to the end, I'll fire up the rom.

And the reason SvC sold more in October is because it just came out, while MS3 was released 5-6 months ago.

I would have assumed that the MS3 port for XBOX sold more than that. Those numbers are surprising.

For the last time guys, those sales are just for the month of October. The reason the KOF double pack and MS3 didn't sell that much for the month is because they are old! Here are the cumulative sales of all of SNK Playmore's PS2/XBX games in the United States:

XBX METAL SLUG 3
Released: May 2004
Sales to date: 54,145 copies sold

PS2 KOF 2000/2001
Released: Dec 2003
Sales to date: 38,026 copies sold

PS2 KOF MAXIMUM IMPACT
Released: Oct 2004
Sales to date: 19,311 copies sold

XBX SNK VS CAPCOM: CHAOS
Released: Oct 2004
Sales to date: 14,196 copies sold

Personally I feel Playmore still has quite an uphill battle here in the States, but hopefully the money they are making will mean less mugen-style crap in the future.
