Could my cab need a new power supply?

I have a Data East Vapor Trail game which has recently been giving me grief. It used to be that by turning up the machine's volume, I could prevent the game from resetting after a few seconds. This no longer works. Any ideas?

maybe you need to test/adjust the voltage on the psu....
