"New Posts" weirdness...

I use the "New Posts" button to read the forum. (Figure it's easier way to just get a dump of all the recent posts and peruse them.)

Occasionally, it seems like the "New Posts" just tend to go blank. The little indicators next to the forums indicate that there are "no new posts".

Before this used to happen only once a day, now it seems to happen every 4 hours or so. (I periodically check during the day. :P)

Is there a way to just get the last 50 or so posts?

It seems whenever you close all browser windows that have this site open, the New Posts reset and will only show new posts since your last visit. If you keep the site open, it seems to keep the posts and just append newer ones. I haven't kept the site open for any HUUUGE length of time, so I can't vouch for it passing the 4 hour mark.
