2020 Super Baseball baserunning

Okay, folks. I've got an easy question here. How do you return to the previous base?

C (I think) and the direction sometimes seem to work, but not always. I usually tap whatever I can because nothing seems to do it for me.

My hitting and defence are pretty decent, but I always get into trouble on the paths because of either cockiness or hesitation. I need your help!

I've actually been playing this game quite a bit against a friend ...It's one of my favorites.

If your player reaches a base there is no way to get him to go back..Say as if a fly ball is hit and the ball is caught ..if your runner say is going to 2nd base and has made it there before the ball was caught.. he's stuck and he will be out...(sucks)

We couldn't get the baserunner to go back once he reached the base..

Now,if you are going to steal,lead or base run to the next base it's B.....A makes the baserunner go back.
If stay in-between the bases you can keep pressing A-B to get the baserunner to run I back and forth until he touches a base.

To chase that baserunner down ..Say if it's an attempted steal from 2nd to third.. (pitcher) throws to the third baseman.
If I press B and joystick toward 2nd base I can chase the baserunner back to the 2nd base or throw the ball in the middle of that run to 2nd base..
But..If the baserunner now starts to run back to third base..and my third baseman hasn't made it back to third the ball will pass him from the 2nd baseman's throw and will roll into the foul area..(My third baseman will miss it,then have to chase it down..
I'm not sure if this happens everytime..
The other day we were in this scenario..I threw the ball back to head off the runner(my friend) and no one home..it went right past him since he wasn't near third base....(that cost me a run..He rounded third to home by the time I got the ball.
First time I ever seen that..

You can then attempt to steal a base again once you reach a base say if I had chased you back.. even if my baseman still has the ball .."if" it's done quick enough providing the ball hasn't been thrown back to the pitcher.
But,then you can try to steal again and this can go on and on..(until the batter is out/walks hits.
Unless the pitcher never throws and keeps just throwing back to the base..
That's B-Joystick toward base then A..If you just hit B ..it'll show the pitcher just standing there undecided..You have to hit B-Joystick toward base then A quick to pick someone off.

Say from 2nd base.. (pressing B a few times) once you reach it but you just can't go back once you reach the next base.

B forward/Run Faster..A Back..

Batter is up...Press joystick toward what baserunner you want to steal..I think it's one press of the B/small lead..B X 2 bigger lead-B X 3 Steal..A to go back for all.
So when you are pressing toward what baserunner you want to steal/lead it will also move your batter...Sometimes this makes him move out of place causing a strike.

I../we still haven't figured how to get out catcher out to throw to a base for a headoff throw after a "ball" is thrown..

If I made a mistake I'll pop on the candy cab and check..let me know..

Oh, so it was A. Like I said, I tried all four buttons, So just A or A and the joystick? Unfortunately, it's late so I don't want to wake up the wife trying it.
Had my first rundown playing with her the other day. The same day we realized you can turn back to a back if you're cut off, actually. Rundowns are handled surprisingly well, I found. Never saw a passed ball, though...interesting.
Thanks for the tip-on the no-tag ups. I guess it pays to be a bit hesitant in this game. Probably best to wait a step or two off the base, that way it's still easier to tag. Wish it was handled a tad better, but the game's too fun to complain.
It took us a little bit to figure out the pick-off. Like you said, we kept hitting B and so too often, the pitcher would stand there.
Oh, and B runs faster too? Great stuff. I love the running animations in the game, robots especially.
The touches in this game are great, and knowing the extra controls will really make it better. Got the full day tomorrow so I'll be playing it for a bit, so I'll definitely try these out and let you know. Knowing you, I'm sure they're 100% accurate.

Thanks for the compliment....I make mistakes,sometimes I'll fail to write something I should know ..or just be totally wrong.
But I try...

I want to play Super Baseball 2020 today..
Thing is I don't try to steal bases etc much against the computer...it's too hard to do..

Today at the flea market I was discussing this game with my friend Ron..
The last tme we were playing(fighting league)I picked a team with a higher running level..but he picked a balanced team.
He had the runners flying around the bases by hitting the B button fast..I always thought it worked but I've never seen that documented..
I mean his runners were really moving..So I asked him again today for my own knowledge.."how the hell were you making the players run so fast"..He said,..Like you told me B....bashing B..
I could not get my runners to run that fast to bases like he was doing.....but it seems like they run faster if I rapidly press B..
Some runners are slower though.

I notice on the MM it's says Joystick and buttons..So that I'd like to add that incase I missed it somewhere..
