yeah, like he said, practice.

It isn't hard.

After you beat it on 8 without continues, another interesting challenge is to try and get Kula as your mid-boss...

i think you need 300,000+ points to get to her, it's tough if you don't sweep or get a few perfects in the first 3 or 4 rounds

Most of the cast is easy until you get to Rugal. He's a cheap bastard since he takes so little damage. I find it easiest to beat him with Oro Yash by doing his qcb+P grab into combo over and over. Also try spaming qcb+P with Maxima will land you a lot of counter wire hits.

You want advice? Use Ramon in there somewhere. You give me Ramon, and anyone else, and I'm going to crush level 8. The guy's just an overpowered pimp.

Maybe Ramon, K9999 and Kyo? That is the team to spank all others.

Kula owns Rugal for free. :smirk:

Hint: be sure to keep Counter Shell in mind...

K' is Rugal killer...
Just do the Second Shoot... well, he will always eat the Chain Drive too.

With O.Yashiro is a little hard to beat , because when you do qcb B grab , he can "Genocide Cut" you , but when you got him , don't let him get away.
You need concentration and practice

Nah man. Actually with Orochi Yash its alot easier.

You do this set up:

sC fwdA qcb A, then do it again and again etc. (* remember that it does not need to hit the first time, you just want to get him in that grab pattern, dont worry if the sC fwdA doesnt hit the first time) If rugal stops trying to fade (roll), he most likely will be rebounding from a jump at that point, and then you just do the sC fwdA qcb A again when he lands into it. If he is almost dead, you should have enough stocks for sC fwdA BC sC fwdA hcbx2 AC.

Another strat is with Chang.

Do his dfA and when rugal gets knocked down, rush back and do it again as he gets up. He should get hit via counter every damn time. He sometimes finds ways around this. Its pretty much a guarantee if you keep it flowing the same way each time.

Both these strats are fluid and work on LEVEL-8.
Rugal suffers from a bad AI.

He will do his qcb B and then he will follow with his B ver. Genocide cutter almost every time. So expect it and rain in your max mode combos when he rebounds. You gotta think fast with this.

The game isn't hard. I'm not a goof kof player, and I can beat it 9 in 10 times.

My only tip is: be 100% sure that your team is composed by 3 characters that you master very well. 2 good characters + a filler will screw you up at the last boss. You will be able to beat him if you play fairly well with your all 3 characters. I always expend the 3 to beat him.

Oh well, one more tip: Playing a lot, you will notice what some teams usually kick your ass. Choose to fight these teams at the earlier (easier) stages, giving the chance to face some teams that you are used to beat at the later (harder) stages.

Damn I love 2002.

I pulled off that exact same '02 Rugal strat last night on level 8 with K''s chain shot.

Works like a charm.

Rugal does indeed suffer from some bad AI; especially his genocide cutter. Sometimes he just keeps going on and on like a re-tread with it. Usually you can get him to loop the same attack pattern and beat him that way.

Shit, after beating '02 on level 8 I was hardly able to get past the 3rd round with kof '99 on level 4.

At least '02 is more of a challenge than '01. '01's difficulty is a joke until you get to Igniz.
