What gets me is this:

Why does the guy who clothslines the other guy (and just misses stomping his head when he's on the ground) all of a sudden hold him and start saying calm down? Is it because he noticed the camera? Or did their staged fight start to attract the wrong (i.e. police) attention? 3rd St. Promenade (which is pretty upscale) is full of street performers, I could see these guys trying to stage something bizarre like a fight.

Also: watch the interaction when the white guy (cracka) gets involved with the other two. The two black guys actually look like they're trying to stop him from getting involved and calm him down -as though they're fake fight all of a sudden got a real participant.

I dunno... real world fights are usually pretty absurd so it could've very well been real.

I think its real cause, the majority of the population dont know jack shit about fighting on the street. All those guys are just a bunch of skinny kids without any muscle trying to mess themselves up. I am willing to bet that probably 99% of members here dont know how to fight either. The only way to learn how to fight is through experience, if you never been in a fight, you just dont know how to fight. If you think a John Wayne style roundhouse punch is a good opener, you are doomed from the beginning.

i think it was staged, none of the kicks or punches look like they hurt, half of them don't even hit. they were punching like girls, and when they had that one guy down, if it was a real beat down they woulda been kicking him in the face and balls. when he clotheslined that one guy it looked like a WWF move, and then the guy got up and just let the other guy hold him, and didn't do anything for knocking him on his ass.

Well, here in America if we allow ourselves to be divided, we will be conquered and will turn against ourselves. Its interesting to note that many latino gangs were created to protect the community and the people from police brutality, back when the cops had a lot of power in the 60s. Of course, they are corrupted and have forgotten their original intentions.

I think that it's the loss of individuality and/or a personal identity that gets the vast majority of people into trouble. The "us against them mentality" is what allows people to be divided, IMO. I'm not sure that being a gang member was ever a noble career path.
