So I thought it was normal and now I'm not so sure, if I have my cab turned off for the night and turn it on again the next day any high scores are always gone, should this happen? Is there a battery on the board I should be looking to replace?

I turn my cab off whenever I am not playing. My high scores are always still there. The only exception is when I change out a lot of games, some games high scores are gone. I have heard that the Neo can only hold memory for about 9 games.

lithy,

Well, I looked at where the battery is this weekend like you asked. It's on the bottom of the 4 slot, on the opposite site of where the controller ports are. It seems to be a watch type battery. The battery seems to be solder on top, so you can't just pull it out without some effort. Hope that helps.

Just surch on electronic shop (web) the same kind of battery and solder it (before remove the dead battery) on your board.

Its a 3.6 volt Ni-Cd, I think they are rated at 50 mA/hr (none of my boards have batteries fitted at the moment) its not critical, within reason.
You can also use a 3.6 volt Ni-MH type rechargable.
