In addition to the launch lineup, they have some huge titles coming out along the way too. Final Fantasy III will finally be releasing, and if Nintendo's relationship with Square Enix is anything to show (Nintendo has been publishing SE games in the US to ensure they make it over), it will finally make it's way stateside.
Nintendo is doing something very smart, they are stepping aside from their own system for a little bit and letting their 3rd party support do the talking. They put out one solid game, a port, that we know is good, but hold off their bigger things until after 3rd parties have become very established with the DS. Nintendo is provided 3rd parties a way out of what they have come to fear, having to compete with Nintendo software on a machine sold to Nintendo fans. Certainly a great move.
Here is a shot of Ridge Racer so far. It doesn't look as good as the PSP version, obviously but has some neat stuff. Players are able to use the touch screen to steer with analog control. You can use the stylus or simply apply your figures to the screen and steer. I'm sure the game will see a little improvement before release. Having seen Metroid Hunters at E3 was running at 60 FPS, I wonder if RRDS will do the same. I want to see it in motion before I jump to conclusions.
