I have decided that I would like to get into collecting different arcade kits for my home instead of focusing on console games. Its kinda hard to find any good information about what came in certain kits etc. So I figured id ask you guys a few questions to get me started.

If im going to bother collecting kits. I might as well go for complete ones. My questions are...

As far as ST-V carts, Naomi, Taito F3 carts, PGM carts, and others, did they come with a box? The times ive looked on ebay i can only find the carts and sometimes a move sheet or a marquee. MVS games all have boxes to go along with the cart. Is this different from the norm?

games for the atomiswave seem to only come with the atomiswave motherboard. Is there any way these games like dolphin blue and rumble fish came seperate? The same goes for other types like ST-V, F3 Etc. Did the only way these came into the market new was with the motherboard?

Are there any good websites other than here, snk-capcom.com, or system16.com that i can find good info and pics of complete carts?

I know for neo-geo i can play whatever region i want in whatever language i want if i mess with the Bios. Does the same apply for others? or would i have to get 2 different mother boards for each one? Or can i play, for ex. an english game for naomi on a japanese motherboard. can i change the language on others even if i can play regardless of region?

Any help would be appreciated, so let me know Thanks! :help:

Try looking at arcadeshock.com... he sells some complete kits for a few platforms so that may give you some more ideas.

From what I know of the TIATO F3 and Sega ST-V

TIATO F3 boards are region specific and I heard that there is a way to fix this but it involves removing an key on one of the connectors... also the Sega ST-V PCB (jap or USA bios) will play some games regardless of region but some will not play.

Check out this site --:

http://www.hardmvs.com/F3/F3modify.htm (for modification of tiato F3 to play other regions )

http://www.hardmvs.com/STV/ST-Vgame.htm (for a list of games that are dual bios capable)

From what I have seen online, MVS was oviosly not the only system that had kits with artwork etc... many other have the same stuff (like Capcom, sega etc). It's just that MVS kits seem easer to find IMO.

Thanks for the help...

also if i were to buy an mvs, which one would you guys recommend? I dont care how many slots i just want the best for use in a supergun. Sean has new ones at the neo store that are pretty tempting, but no memory card reader, how hard/expensive is it to find one, how about in the box?
