It looks like it could be weak, but I thought the exact same thing about the South Park movie and it was one of my favorite movies.

I am. Trey Parker and Matt Stone do satire and social commentary like no one else.

I am definitely looking forward to it. I like how they stuck with the puppets and models through out the whole movie. No CG in this movie what so ever. Plus its Matt Stone and Trey Parker, who always make me laugh.

The fact that it's being made by Parker and Stone, caught my attention, but there was nothing in the trailer that made me laugh. I just kept waiting for it, but it never came.

I can't wait for this one. It should be good coming from Trey and Matt. I was reading earlier that they had redo a few scenes to get an R instead of an NC-17 rating.

That's exactly what it was like with South Park. Of course, when you saw the movie you found that the reason they didn't show them was because they couldn't show them on TV :)

Incidently, the little puppet effigies of people like Kim Jong Il and Michael Moore are amazingly well done!

(the new TV trailers are pretty funny, they satirize the "Farenheit 9/11" trailers)

Not only that, but the people who make commercials for movies or tv shows will only put in the corniest scenes from said movie or tv show. Even see a commercial for the Simpsons on Fox? It's almost painful, especially when they add silly sound effects.

I'm just the opposite -- I'm laughing right the way thru it. The dialogue is so cliched, it would be marvelous parody if it were being performed by flesh&blood actors -- the fact that marionettes are performing it just splits my sides. The romantic kiss was priceless. I've been a huge fan of Gerry Anderson's various works ever since my childhood introduction to Thunderbirds and Stingray while stationed in England. As such, I've been refusing to see the new Thunderbirds live-action film even tho' it's now at our local $1.00 theaters. I've been stoked about a bigscreen marionation-style film ever since I first saw the trailer for TA:WP.

BTW, DXMachina -- your av & sig rule all. :buttrock:

I'm going to the movie for two words:

Puppet Sex.

Apparently they had to tone this down to get the movie lowered from an NC-17 to R.

Being a huge fan of the 60's - 80's SUPERMARIONATION of Gerry & Sylvia Anderson I'm going to go see this parody/salute to those golden days of Captain Scarlet, Thunder Birds and Joe 90. ---I know it's not going to be as good as those titles mentioned for the sure fact the whole thing is a joke, as in "You're supposed to see the wires", but it's really the only reason I'm going. It's just too bad the recent Thunder Birds film had to have Bill Paxton and a lot of C.G. instead of kick starting a new Super Marionation trend.

The trailer makes me laugh every time I see it, so I want to see this movie.

I laugh at the blond chic..."Hey terrorists! Terrorize this!(whips hair around)"
