Xbox CD-Rom Replacement

A buddy of mine has an xbox where the cdrom drive has failed. Has anyone here replaced a dvdrom unit and how hard is it? Any idea on cost of the unit?

It's not hard to replace the dvdrom, just open the case, disconnect the power and ide cable from the drive, and snap it out of the case.

I've just bought the Samsung drive because everyone says that's the best drive, and it really is. It reads faster than the other drives and never gives that stupid 'dirty disc' error.
