It's supposed to ship today, but you know that some stores will already have it tonight. I'm thinking of getting this but i'm rather disappointed that some of my faves won't be present. (Kung lao, Kitana...)

My EB said the game shipped, but they won't have it until tomorrow. I might troll the Targets and Wally Worlds tonight though, it might be worth a shot. The reviews on this game are pretty positive so far. Which version are you guys getting? If I wasn't ditching my Xbox I would buy it for that, looks like I'll be stuck with the PS2 release.

Mine got the collecter's edition today, but only enough copies for preorders. I didn't preorder this time, so it looks like I'm screwed.

that's weird that some places got it and some don't. i preordered online and had them ship to the local eb. they said it was delayed by the publisher or something. oh well, i can wait another day.

I'm tempted not to buy it now. Having worked for Gamestop as a manager some years ago, I understand why they do preorders. It guarantees them a sale and all that. But as a customer, I think it's ridiculous that I have to preorder a game to be sure to get it on release day. Why the fuck don't they make enough copies to go around?

I preorder a game occasionally, mainly ones I know I'm buying for sure. But I was on the fence with MK Deception, and I didn't think I was going to get it until last week. Now I have to hunt down a collecter's edition all over town because EB only got enough copies in to cover preorders. Fuck that.

Well, having some experience from the sales end it's a real pain to order a lot of stock for what you think will sell well only to find out that nobody wants to buy it. In this case almost everybody is waiting for Halo2 so EB probably doesn't want to order 2000 copies of this game only to sell about 300. What do they do with the 1700 left? After the game gets old you have a sale like the Circuit City or TRU deal. Net profit 0.00

Meanwhile, I went in at 11:00 and picked up a regular xbox copy.

Ok, been playing since 11 AM.

No bad so far. The single player mode has you climbing a mountain with opponents at different levels. The final boss is the Dragon king we heard so much about in MK: DA the mid boss is Smoke AND Noob. That's right you have to fight them both AT THE SAME TIME. You start off fighting one of them and MVC vs-style they tag in/out. I think they share the same life meter. Combos are the same as before with the addtion of the combo breaker. You can only break a combo three times by pressing Fwd + Block. The stages are nice, many of the have fatalities that can kill you with full life.(basically a grisly ring out) Ex. One stage has you on a cliff?that is constantly falling apart. If you fall off it's basically a ring out and you get impaled. One stage where you knock somebody off a building, the pit is back. Lots of breakable walls and such. There are also weapons available on some stages that you can grab and use. Made it to the dragon king but still haven't beat him yet. On his stage there are pedestals with different icons on them and if you manage to break one, the dragon king will double over in pain and if you hit him it will take a LOT of damage so that may be the key to beating him. Haven't unlocked anything in the crypt yet. I'll let somebody else do a real review. Gotta take care of a sick kid.

I got the kollector's edition for XB today, but I had to call 7 stores to find it. All the other ones said they wouldn't have it until the end of the week, but they were more than haappy to sell me a regular edition. I went to the store that had it in, and they had like 100 in. This makes me beleive this "shortage" or whatever is all a scam to move more copies of the regular edition, which otherwise probably wouldn't sell well at all.

I got Deception today. I love it. The stages are just incredible. I pre-ordered Kollector's Edition at GameStop but there was a problem with the shipping so I only have the regular edition. So, what's in the Kollector's Edition? All I heard was a card and a DVD so, what's in the DVD and what else is there? I want some details to know what I'm missin out.

I have to wait till tomorrow. I preordered the Premium Pack for PS2 from Gamestop. They had the normal versions, but won't be getting the Kollectors/Premium Edition till tomorrow. Well, at least I got to play the game there to see it in action. Can't wait till tomorrow.

The foil card, Bonus History of MK DVD, and Arcade Perfect MK1. That's why I'm waiting, for classic MK1.

I reserved the Premium Pack for PS2 a few days ago and when I went to pick up after school today they only had the regular version. I have to wait until tomorrow.

The game is pretty cool. The fighting engine takes some time getting used to. Well at least for me because Iv been playing SF3 for like two weeks. Sub-Zero still kinda sucks. But baraka is very badass.
I have the "kollectors edition". Its not much of a collectors addition though. The only thing diffrent is the slip case cover (I got the scorpian one) , the metal card thingy, and the dvd. But the extra dvd is packaged in an ordinary white paper slip envelope thing. So its kinda lame. From what I played of the aracade port its all there. I did notice that sometimes one or two sound fx wouldnt play every once in awhile. But other than that its all there.
Another thing I hate is that you have to play that cheesy quest mode to get the extra fighters. LAME

Puzzle Kombat is plenty of fun(In fact, I'm playin' it right now) but Chess is awesome. Very creative. You're gonna have to check it out for yourself :glee:

Yeah, and the quest mode isn't even that great. I hate it! Why didn't they just keep it with koins or even some sort of trick during combat mode.

I think i'm almost done with it anyway, i've already finished all but one realm and unlocked Jade and Kenshi and a couple of new stages.

is the gamecube version still not coming out until next year?

There's going to be no Gamecube version. Midway stopped being a third party supporter for Nintendo this year. I forgot why though...

As for deception, I may rent this and take a look at it.
