No need for apologies if they are willing to take refunds! :D

Hmmmph, at this rate, John Romero should STILL be apologizing for Daikatana.

Peter Molyneaux has still made a bunch of incredible games, even if this one isn't quite what it was originally cracked up to be. He would be a lot better off if he just kept his ideas secret until they're reality.

This is suspected to be one of the reasons Nintendo almost never lets any members of the press see their games being made. The secrecy gives them an edge because we really know almost nothing about their games until close to launch, hence we never hear about what great ideas were scrapped. Lionhead took the early hype route, which is always a setup for dsisappointment, while it may drum up early support.

Would Fable have sold as well if they'd kept it quiet? Maybe not, but next time Molyneux has some brilliant game ideas, the industry will be a lot more skeptical now that his track record is less-than-perfect.

about nintendo leaking info is so true, my nintendo rep that comes to my store doesnt even get to know very much at all, only what the little pc thing he brings in when he changes his floorplan.

i asked him about the next gen console and the only thing he knew as that they codenamed it evolution.
they called the ds "project dolphin" is what we came to find out.
but that was also the name for the cube and also the playstation back in the day.

I just beat Fable a couple of minutes ago. I never was really hyped for Fable and almost didn't play it at all if it wasn't for renting it. It was a decent game though without all those features. The game (storyline wise) ended so quickly I was thinking this couldn't be the final boss already when I fought him, but he was. The game was easy as well.

Well to be fair the meat of the game is really in the side quests and extra stuff you can do. If your one of those players that trys to beat a game as fast as possible ,and dousnt take any time to look around. Then you will miss alot of stuff thats in fable.

But yeah the game is pretty easy but its also pretty fun. It just wanst as ground breaking as it was made out to be.

I've actually heard that nothing in this game works as it should, sidequests included. Worst of all I heard it was easy to flip your alignment back and forth within minutes. You could be the most loved hero ever and turn into a dark lord just by putting on some evil armor and certain tattoos. This is the main feature of the game, supposedly, that all your actions affect what you become, but it sounds like that's not true at all. And you get the same storyline every time regardless. This kind of thing has been done a lot better a whole lot of times. Thing is, I never played the game, but having read about it and then hearing about this stuff from so many people, I am a little shocked. It doesn't sound like anything in this game was done better than or even comparable to other games on the market. After 4 years, too!

i heard fable was a pretty big disappointment. i was really interested in it years and years ago but by the time it was released i didnt give a shit. i heard it was laughably easy but what are the promised features it didnt deliver? the only big thing it promised was the "your actions now will affect the future" sort of thing. if the game was so damn short how did it span all those years to see your hero grow and develope and whatnot?

I have only played the game for about and hour and a half and I'm already an adult. But I haven't really had any urge to play it anymore.

Everyone I know who played it had something like this as a reaction: "It was fun while it lasted, but it didn't last very long, and I got really disappointed when I went and looked for the replay value."
