Games Not To Buy

This should be fun.

If you would, please try and avoid SNK titles, i think it'll keep the thread fresher and more interesting.

I'll start:

Gekido Advance [GBA]

Terrible. there's like a grand total of 3 sounds, the animation is stupid, and it's like, fake japanese. Not to be a "japan elitist," but i don't even think they were trying. I think they told the voice actor to scream something that sounded vaguely asian, and then they just added a flame noise behind it to muffle its clarity.
Hit detection sucks, story is very dumb, and its animation is alright but nothing special. Music sucks too.

P.S. - In contrast, everyone should go out and buy Advance Guardian Heroes. It's great!

Street Fighter: The Movie (PS1) - what an utter shitfest ...

Samurai Shodown III (PS1) - This port actually made me hate this game until I actually owned it on AES.

Mortal Kombat (SNES) - Aside from raping the fatalities, the gameplay (which was already a bit lacking in the arcad) was raped. There were fucking delays between d-pad presses and jumping/ducking/moving.

Ninja Kid (NES) - I remember trading a kid this game for Tiger Heli (a pretty decent shooter for the NES - nothing like Life Force, but ok). Anyway, he brought it back the next day, and demanded his game back.

Street Fighter Alpha 2 on SNES. It's playable, but there are better and easier to find versions out there.

Solo Frontier for Playstation 1. Man I had no idea on what the fuck to do on this game. Its fucked up I thought...never again Ill play that game. It is a worthless game. Avoid with caution!

Do not buy The Ring: Terror's Realm.

I played, and completed, this mangled franchise game so you don't have to.

Terrible camera angles; terrible item pickup detection; terrible hit detection; terribly dim, nay, PITCH BLACK ambient light source; terrible object modeling; terrible cut scenes; mediocre story; and TERRIBLE ending.

rise of the robots 1&2: funny story i got part one for $50 new played it for an hour wane back the next day to EB to return it and got Secret of Mana used with no box for $45 and told them to keep the change just as long as they let me return rise of the robots 1

Killer Instinct(Snes)- What were you thinking RARE?

Nice concept. Maybe good if you have a group of friends who like RPGs and mini-game-type stuff, minus the mini-games.

I believe its some RPG game as I recall but its fucked in my view. About...I dont remember what its about as I couldnt figure it out...and the controls were messed. The worst one Ive ever played. Good thing I didnt buy it and only rented it.

CONTRA: Legacy of War {PS1} = Pure Shit

RASTAN {SMS} = Horrible "Port" of the Arcade game with dodgy controls.

Yayuken Special {JPN Saturn} = Cheating ass Jan Ken Po, leave it alone.

Are you sure it wasn't called Saga Frontier? The RPG from Squaresoft?

Ikaruga - it's so fucking hard it will rip you a new asshole and take a shit in it.

Xenosaga - decent PS2 rpg does no justice to PSX original.

Spice World - boring, gay, not even a conversation starter anymore

I think the game you're talking about is SaGa Frontier. SaGa Frontier 2, on the other hand, is quite a nice game IMO.

Anyway, avoid:

Beyond the Beyond (PS1): terrible in every aspect. Random encounters through the roof.

Bruce Lee (XBox): worst game I've ever played. I can't believe it was delayed so much and came out the way it did. It makes me wonder how much worse it could have been if it WASN'T!

Nightcaster 2 (XBox): DOA. I actually enjoyed the original for what it had to offer and felt there was definitely some potential, but this game killed what could have been an interesting Gauntlet-esque franchise.

Wanderers from Ys 3 (SNES): Piss-poor hit detection, way too short, a terrible soundtrack (although I must note the Turbo CD version's is incredible), and no replayability.

Gun Valkyrie (XBox): I played it, beat it, and haven't played it since. There's a cult following for this game, and the premise is certainly unique, but the ending's as bad as they come. WTF was with Poe and her father's relationship? It could've been a great potential storyline, but was just thrown aside. More weapons and a custom controller (let alone controller customization) would have helped. It just seemed rushed.

Brutal 1&2 (by Gametek, various consoles, early-90s): Worst controls in a fighting game really hurt another unique potential franchise. Everything else was pretty good, though.

Blood Omen - Legacy of Kain (PS1): Lots of loading, poor camera, and just an overall depressing feeling throughout the whole game, which doesn't help when the gameplay's as mediocre as this.

Just about any title ever made by Acclaim. Seriously.

King Arthur and the Knights of Justice (SNES): Take Zelda, remove everything about it that made it great, add trial-and-error gameplay with NO linearity whatsoever, and you've got this pile. Avoid like the plague. I still can't believe Enix made this one. It looks like an NES game, even though it came out circa '94.

Fighting Force (by Eidos, multiple consoles): Bad even for Eidos' standards.

Athena (NES)- Here's the deal, Athena is bored so she goes on some "adventure" and that adventure is nothing more than a piece of crock shit. Gameplay is horrible, the music is bad and the levels and enemies are just ghey.

The Simpsons Wrestling (PSX)- My little brother and I thought this game was going to be the tightest game ever but when we got it, we wanted to take it back so bad cause it was yet anohter piece of crock shit.

Blade 2 the game play is just like the Bruce Lee game for xbox but suck even more i have read that Blade 1 for psx is the same way if it did not work the 1st time why do part 2 the same way

Burger Time and Popeye was f**king gay for the NES.

Blowout : (GC) Not worth the 10 bucks I paid for it new.

WarCraft 3 (PC): Not the worst game, but a total let down for all the wait and hype.

Mike Tyson's Boxing ( PS2) : Total shit.
