firstly, are the Neo CD systems universal? meaning.. can you play US games on a JPN system and vice-versa like you can with the AES systems?

secondly, saving.. do you/can you save games with the CD systems? do they use the same memory cards as the AES systems?

yeah yeah, #2 is really 2 q's but oh well. :D

thanks! :glee:

Dont know much about the cds, but an educated guess.

1. Yes a japanese disc will work in a us player and visa-versa.
2. No memory card, but maybe ability to save to ram in the machine ?

The NGCD does have 2KB of save memory (same as a memory card) built in.

alright. thanks! :)

still planning to stick mainly to AES, but getting one of those NGCD systems for the heck of it & was curious about those things.

The Neo-Geo CD basically acts the same as the AES-it should play all legitimate Neo CDs-regardless of their region. The games' default language depends on the system's region. For example, a Japanese Metal Slug CD will display in English on an English system.

However, there are a few exceptions. Only Japanese will be displayed for titles that only came out in Japan-such as the mahjong titles.

The Neo-Geo CD also contains RAM that displays like the AES memory card.
