Memory Error

Hey every one been a while scince I posted I was hoping that there is some one out there who could help me here. I have a Neo-MVH 4-slot board and I get that memory error. I change out the memory with new memory (wow lots of memory) and i still get the error. Is there any one who could tell me how to fix the board or any one who could fix it for me? Please let me know I would defanitly be greatfull

No i havent tryed that yet. What does it do clear every thing on the board? If this fixes it you rock

I've had a number of board - I've kinda taken to the thinking that any memory error = might as well chuck it in the bin.

Unless you are amazing at soldering!

Okay so I havnt sodered off the battery yet but I am going to tonight. But I have another question what are these two empty slots on my board for? The numbers of the slots are SC1 531024 and SC2 531024 it looks like some chips should be pluged in here. ANy help would be great

When you say memory error are you talking about backup memory or video ram?

Hmm.

I'm curious to know what those sockets are for after seeing tthose pics.

Ealier when I saw this post I tried to see if the 4 slot in my Big Red has those or chips in them..
But I can't see ..I have to take off the back of the cab to check..

I'll check tomorrow if no one replies/knows.

My boards have slots empty like that - it's standard....


unless that's why some of mine don't work!!!

I have no clue what thoughs slots are for. Ohhh and it said Video ram error thats why I first changed my vid ram chips.

okay so i took the battery off let it stand for 24 hours. I hoping it would clear out the bios and make is work but it still wound work this is the error I get

VIDEO RAM ERROR
Address 00000E41
Write 5555
Read 5551

I have changed my video ram chpis out. Mabye the ones I got were bad i dont know .Where can you get video ram chips from? I goot new ones and the slots on ebay. I hope its just that one of them are bad or is my board just DOA

Is there any other thing I am missing? Can some one out there fix my board? Please help me I dont want to spend another 200 for a 4 slot

It would be very strange if you swap out the ram chips and still get the indetical error, same numbers and same address. To me though would more suggest the problem is elsewhere, maybe a faulty trace?

well i dont know what else to do. I am about to jsut toss this in the trash and start saving for another board. i would really love to save this one though.

Worst comes to worst..Don't trash it..Throw it up on Ebay as Non working..
Somebody will need it for parts.
Shoot,I bid on broken boards a lot..
