Just got my MGCD in the mail today. Its a used one from Cosmicco. The controller port cables are not labeled, :blow_top: and I know you can screw things up if you plug player2 in player1, etc. If you are looking at your MGCD oriented in front of you like this picture Which cable would be Player 1 and 2? Is it player 2 on the far left, and the one next to it player 1?

I have the thing wired up ready to go...just need to know this to start enjoying it. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

I've had a couple of these devices over the past couple of years - to be honest I'm glad I sold them on, to accomodate the extra buttons I had to adapt my JAMMA loom.
the 2 variations I have had have been compatible with BOTH the Dreamcast and the PS2

Yeah, I can understand that...they are an "iffy" piece of hardware at best...I did have to snip my wires 27 and 28 off the JAMMA loom and ground them into something else [spliced them into wire 1] but I don't plan on wiring the extra buttons...4 works just fine for me. But now that I have everything working, and my buttons set up nice, and CVS2 running...I can't complain. :buttrock:

I have a question for those who own one of these MGCD devices.

I got mine this past Monday also. I notice that the sound is very low after it converts the signal. Even when I turn the yellow dial all the way with a screwdriver, the sound gets very low.

Is the sound supposed to be this way?

One more thing, does anyone know what dip switches do what? Mine are arranged 1-8 and then 1-12.

Anyway, this is great for those DC shooters. Finally got to experiece what look like threw an RGB signal. Simply Awesome! :buttrock:

I had the same prob with the sound....but then, all of a sudden after turning it on and off a number of times testing DIP settings, it just quit. ??? I know, I don't understand...but I am not complaining. Its a little sketchy. As far as DIP settings, I turn 1-8 on the frist set of switches ALL TO "OFF"...Set K1 and K2 to OFF. Set K3 to ON and Set K4 to OFF. Then K5-K12 all ON. This will give you 256 minutes. Insert a coin, hit start and the timer counts down. These are the settings I am using, and everything seems to work, and my sound is fine now. [I swear it just had to run for a while and shake the cobwebs out]
