Hey guys,
I'm arguing with a friend who boldly claims that OVER 50% of users here use mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. I find these numbers rediculous as there is well over 12,000 users here. I'd like to confirm this. Let me know guys, prove me wrong.

I actually have both but use IE as my primary. I get more than a little tired of having to go find plug-ins.

Go run Ad-Aware and check your Spyware count. It's still there, you just don't get the pop-ups.

you're right, but i use spybot and adaware pretty frequently and it seems like less shit collects. Maybe it's just a question of perception...or maybe i just haven't been looking at as much porn lately.

off-topic: ResOGlas, why does your sig picture not contain a file extension? A simple picture of that size shouldn't be 123k either... you didn't save it as a .bmp, did you?

I recently downloaded firefox and while I like it, I can't get out of the habit of using IE. :annoyed:

If you're talking about people who actually post here then the number is more like 150 at any given time.

EDIT: BTW, I don't know if this matters to you, but a lot of people here use Macs, too. Mac users typically don't use either of those browsers.

Both.

I know a lot of people who use both.

I use IE on site I know and trust, and Firefox on everything else, including commercial websites I commonly visit like ESPN, CNNSI, newspapers, ebaumsworld, etc.

I don't know why its so hard to believe. All of my friends (even the girls) have switched to firefox as their main browser.

I use Firefox almost all the time. I only use IE if a website happens to have some IE only code (which is really infrequent).

I've converted a number of people I work with too!

Clearly the question of active to passive users WAS NOT a question in the poll. I also don't enjoy you participating in my thread with flawed posts as well.

Well, FireFox is inferior considering that you can't even log out cookies. Not to mention that while using FireFox you CANNOT enter the chat here on neo-geo.com .

These kids are teh hardcore indeed.

Blocks pop-ups? Sure does.

Superior? Not by a fucking long shot.
