Are they part of the same universe? Are they linked like Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting are connected? How are they related other then made by CAPCOM?

The two PS2 Maximo games are 3D sequels to the old Ghosts 'N Goblins and Ghouls 'N Ghosts games. Both are excellent games that to me succeed nicely in carrying the great old classics forward.

Do any charecters from previous games make an appearence in either Maximo games? How exactly are they connected?? Can you elaborate?

I don't remember where I read, but it said that Arthur is Maximo's ancestor, and
or possibly his father.

I remember at the time it was made {the first MAXIMO} Capcom of America {or at least the group responsible for Final Fight Revenge on the JPN SATURN} stated that the game was a salute to the old "Daimakaimura" games, but were sequels in flavor only. That other than being inspired by the oldies, and stuff like Maximo's boxers it had nothing to do with the older games. It's actually one of the few games originally in 2-D that made a somewhat nice jump to 3-D, but I'd rather play a traditional Daimakaimura game myself.
