I was playing the Big Red today for a good amount of time,leaving the cab on between doing things(attract mode off)
Cab line up..(no boots)
League Bowling
Burning Fight
Magical Lord
MOTW..
Knock on wood this cab gives me no problems..
I had no problems with any of these games today,they've been in the Cab for awhile.
The cab was running say through it's 15th demo cycle while I was eating dinner..
I look up and at the cabs screen and all I see is a frozen black screen with half an O and half a G..
The Giga Shock intro from MOTW froze and the Neo Geo screen only showing O and half a G in what looks to had been a shrunken circle.
I shit.
.I jumped up and tried to reset the cab through the Test switch ..It went to the Test Screen but wouldn't let me Exit.
So I turned the cab off/on and all seemed fine..
It got to bugging me why this happened.
So I pulled all the carts out and gave them a cleaning..I cleaned the mother boards connectors/Harness pins and edge connector.
I didn't give MOTW as good as a cleaning as I thought.
I put all the carts back in and MOTW was just a yellow lines screen..
I took it apart and could see it's got some corrosion/yellowing on the connectors I missed..
So I figure this cart was the problem....
I ran the cab for awhile after putting the carts back in and it's fine..
Curious things I don't know about..
I don't get the Normal start up Neo Geo opening screen after the first demo cycle..I only get the Giga Shock before MOTW that's in slot 4 then it goes right to League Bowling that's in slot 1 after MOTW's demo is over..
Should I relocate MOTW..?
Is that right.?...What happened to the basic Neo Geo opening screen..?
Would a dirty cart freeze up my cab like that.?
Could a power surge freeze my cab up like that..?
While the cab was running before the freeze up I saw the room lights dip for a second..
