hi hi,
I'm in the market for an mp3 player since I was thinking it would
be more easier to listen to on the run than a portable cd player,
not to mention better than lugging around what cds I want to listen to.
Suggestions are welcome, not really looking for an Ipod though since they
seem more money than I would pay for typical listening pleasure.
I did see one of these at best buy, very small and reasonably priced but still
would like to hear any other suggestions and all.
thanky,

rare

For the money just go to Target and get the cheapest MP3 CD player they have.

Buy a five pack of CD-RWs, rip the cds you want and burn them to that thing.

You can fit like 8+ cds on one of those things

one of the things I think about is the size too,
the one I mentioned I saw at best buy is real small, I mean small
enough to fit in your pocket without it bothering or anything.
anyways, just wanted to mention with all these shows getting their own dvd
collections, it's a shame pete and pete will never get that treatment and
probably remain in infinite syndication for the rest of time.

God dont even mention that.

Yeah those small mp3 players are nice and small, but you cant fit much on them is the problem, maybe 1 and a half cds?

Id spend 200+ dollars on a nice hard drive based player instead of the flash internal memory ones since they are expensive and dont hold much.

/\ What he said.

That Samsung unit is only 256MB.. That'll hold about 5 or 6 cds worth of music.
Save up the extra $50-$150 and get something with a hard drive.

This is the MP3 player I want for Christmas:

20GB is plenty. No special software, no iTunes bullshit. Uses Winamp playlists. USB2.0 device is plug n play as a removable drive in Win XP/2K. Drag n drop files. FM tuner (Big plus there!), magnesium case, records MP3 from ext sources, and has a lighted remote and flashable firmware... I tried it in Breast Buy... Fekkin love this thing! Its nearly perfect. The only thing it cannot do is record off the FM radio but oh well.

For flash-based MP3 playback; I use my Pocket PC. 1 and 2 GB CF memory has dropped lately to about 60 and 130 bucks respectively. That makes it attractive to compete with HD based players.

I want one

These harddrive players are just too expensive and too big. I have a no-name 256 MB player that I can have in my pocket at the same time as my cellphone. That's a huge plus. There's no way I could do that with an iPod or similar device. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait until you can get 1 GB USB pens/MP3 players at a reasonable price.

ive got a 128 mb nomad muvo. its awesome coz it never skips/stops and runs for 12+ hours on one of the smaller batters (maybe like 25 yen here). it just plugs into the usb and you drag and drop, no special progs to fool about with.

now i want one with about a gig that plugs straight in and runs off a battery, all the 1 gb ones seem to have built in rechargeable batteries which stops me getting one....

I was gonna get this one>>http://reviews.cnet.com/Creative_Nomad_MuVo2_4GB/4505-6490_7-30708279.html before I bought my ipod. Its 4 gig, and you can find it for as low as 160 if you look around.

hey thanks,
I like that one.
I'm not too interested in music like, pow: gotta listen to this now.
I'm more looking for some background music for when I'm walking about the
very large campus I work and go to school at.
set it on random. ho hum.
4 gigs sounds super too.
