I remember this game used to be the biggest money maker when I used to
attend this arcade some 10 or so years ago, anyone else familiar with this game?

Used to spend a lot of time at the Flying J Truck Stop playing the first two in the series, and then there was this other title called Painted Lady I used to play at one of the Diversions Gamerooms' by my old crib. It was a novelty at best, but I was always better at these games than say the Strip Jan-Ken-Po stuff from Japan like Yayuken Special on the SATURN.

Yeah, I played a bunch of this between rounds of SFII while at the Circle K across from Arizona Stadium. It had kinda sluggish Qix-clone gameplay, it was really only a big deal because of the nudie pics. Fond memories though. ;)

Gals Panic S on the Saturn had better gameplay, but the 'prize' was only softcore hentai.

I got the pcb, and I aint gonna let it go for anything less than a a Sega Moto Raid cabinet.

Played it when I was ten or eleven and got properly hooked on the Qix gameplay

Personally I cant stand the Kaneko SuperNova Panic games, they just feel wrong. Owned two, sold them off quickly again.

Yup, I played the original many years ago... Ah, the memories... Now I can only play them in the emu, I just can't bother buying the pcbs as they are vertical games. The Saturn ports were fun for a while.

I've got the 'new version' of Gals Panic.

It's got redrawn first stages of the girls, spider-web that rotates and zooms, same with the logo on the startscreen.

Is it in mame yet?

As far as I know, mame supports the original Gals Panic from 1990, and three versions for the Kaneko Supernova: Gals Panic 4 (1996), Gals Panic S (1997) and Gals Panic S2 (1999), and of course a ton of imitations, that are usually more porn, like Miss World 96 Nude. Gals Panic 2 and 3 are not emulated yet, I think.

I remember playing the first Gals Panic when I was on a trip up to Niagra Falls. (Canada side, of course) The game is hard as hell. I thaught it was alot like Qix but harder. The damn spider webs in one stage were insane, they'd slow you down and you'd get shot by somthing else on the screen. I'd like to play more Qix style games. There really simple but when they add those little monster things is when it get's challanging.
