THe thing looks badass!!!

He actually looks like a pile of Rocks!

I've loved the fantastic four since i was a kid, the Comics, the cartoon etc...

I had HEARD about the poorly made version in the 90s that was evidently never released...

but so far it looks like this one is coming along well....

I really like living in the golden age of comic book movies, back in the day, all there was was BATMAN....

But the tremendous success Spiderman has changed the landscape of movies today.

BTW as for Jessica Alba as Mrs. Invisible...

I see enormous sellouts of huge posters, t-shirts, and cardboard cutouts across the nation...

VERY nice.

Not a big fan of the series, but The Thing looks great. Be worth checking it out when hits the big screen. Can't be worse than how Daredevil turned out.

Well damn, I never knew about this movie.

The thing looks amazing. as for Alba,....I just can't stand that daft cunt (not to mention any and all "work" that she did is complete shit). The person in charge of casting for this film should be shot.

What's the deal with the Human Torch and Mr. Fantastic being the same guy? What do you mean that's two people?

Well I can agree with you from an acting standpoint...

But whoever cast her, knows that She will make mad bank for this movie...

Licensing, posters, increased ticket sales... etc...

I really like the pic of Ben, at least it's closer to the original design concept than ever before. Nice.

Thing is tho that I'm not a fan of real-life adaptions of series like F4, I don't like most movies based on super hero comics, except perhaps for Batman, the movie wasn't all that close to the series but had a cool atmosphere IMO.

Speaking of F4, anyone remember the PSX sidescroller? I was moderately fond of it when it came out and tho it wasn't the best game ever, I put quite some time in it.

My fave F4 charas are Johnny and Ben, btw.

I wasn't too much of a F4 fan myself, but I got excited when I saw the pics due to the "classic Marvel series crossover bullshit" possibilities. I want my secret wars! Secret wars II! TEH INFINITY WAR DAMMIT!!!!111one

Anyway, where the fuck are the Dr. Doom pics?

origional f4

Does anyone else own or at least saw the last movie. It is such a pile of crap, it is one of the coolest things i have ever seen. Horrible costumes, effects, story. Pure garbage, I am proud to own it.

I thought the Thing was gonna look wider and burlier than that, but he looks good. I'm not sure about Alba being the Invisible Woman, then again, I'm not sure about her acting outside of Dark Angel, and I'm talking aboput the 1st season when she had curly hair.

Still, it looks interesting enough to get me out of the house to see a movie.

Edit: I never heard of the other Fantastic Four movie. Was it really that bad? :p

The Thing looks like an overrated actor inside a rubber latex suit painted to look like rock.

Fantastic Four blows.

Invisible Girl and Human Torch were BLONDE :emb:

Man, you know Catgirl black skin was her OUTFIT and not her own, right?

Oh wait... what about the KingPin?

Moreover, Jhonny Storm was quite younger than Reed Richards, IIRC.

And Susan Storm Richards never had that slutty look.

And -best of the best- Richards was a scientist, not a retarded surfer or something. He was supposed to have an INTELLIGENT glare in his eyes, huh? :annoyed:

C'mon, Hollywood is just out of ideas. They're raping old comics series since like 5-years now, just porducing stupid CGI shit.

SNKP = Hollywood = teh ripping-off

meh :emb:

I know I'm going to be shot for suggesting this after everyone had to endure the horror that was The Hulk, but he definitely suffers from the fact that you can't get the "true to comic scale" with an actor in a costume, so it ends up looking cheesy.

I would of gone with "tasteful" CGI for The Thing.

As for the cast at large I have my doubts.

I mean I like Jessica Alba enough but she's just not right for the part.

They should be casting for "type" and should have at least made sure that the cast have at least a minor passing resemblence to the characters they're supposed to be portraying.

I mean perfect matches aside Wesley Snipes, Hugh Jackman, Thomas Jane, Patrick Stuwart, Halle Berry (despite stupid looking wig) and Toby MacGuire at least resemble the characters they've potrayed on screen.

With the FF cast the resemblence to the actual characters isn't there at all.

edit: You can possibly get by with the justification that the thing "evolved" over the years and this shows him at his earliest stage.

But this still looks like ass.

That's what I meant. In the early F4 comics, Ben looks more like a very big and bulky guy, his stone skin was not as clearly visible and outlined as in later issues, that's why I kinda like the Ben pic. The facial expression with that trademark eyebrow-line is quite good IMO.

Anyway, I really don't care for the movie... you are absolutely correct, it's simply impossible to stay close to the original. For ex., Ben usually has very big feet in the comics which makes him look even more powerful, but if you'd give him those huge treaders in a real-life movie, he would look like a clown, CGI/special effects or not.

When I saw the article in a newspaper I jumped up and down like a fangirl in front of the customers at work. I'm not a huge Fantastic Four fan, but I'm really looking forward to this movie.

Who's playing Doctor Doom, anyway? I forget. :emb:
