I searched through the forums to see if this error has been posted before but didn't see anything like this. After ordering a modded AES the package arrived today and I was super-stocked to play with it.

At first I put in Nam-1975 but there was a really bad red-pink color shift from the S-Video. I tried swapping cables but it didn't improve the color.

Also in the order was an XNEO-1 so I plugged it in and to my surprise the red-pink color shift was gone!

After powering down the unit I swapped in SVC Chaos to play some matches but the following error message came up:
AES-Error.jpg

After shutting down the system and unplugging the power cable I unplugged the XNEO-1 and replugged the video connectors into the internal S-Video port. Needless to say the same dialog appeared after powering the system back up.

I've contacted the seller to see if there's anything I can do, but if any of the brilliant guys on this forum have any ideas I'M DESPERATE!

I forgot to mention that removing the memory card allows me to play games and get to the BIOS screen.

Can a memory card get corrupt from stuff like this?

With the memory card plugged in there is no game I can get to load. If I unplug the memory card everything works just fine, and at the BIOS screen I ran the CRC check on the game carts and it all checked out.

I have no idea where these registers listed point to or if the memory card is the actual problem.

Thanks KOF Rugal for the advice, I'll be sure to check your tip out as well!

Tjhe only time I ge the green message is when I don't insert the game correctly. It also happens when I'm playing SVC. But like I said it happens rarely. As far as usimg the memory card goes. I can't help you, but I'm sure someone else will....

Does it happen during gameplay of SVC or when it boots? And were you playing the SVC AES or the MVS via the Phantom-1?

It happens during game play, I have the AES version.

Does your error happen at a specific time or at random times?

I'm really hoping that there's a simple fix to this problem. The previous AES system I owned wouldn't play any SNKP MVS games when used with the Phantom-1, but the system I just received has played every SNKP MVS game (except KoF2K3) for the 10-15 minutes I tried them out.

After buying this new system I just want to make sure everything is working ok :annoyed:

It happens radomly it does not have a specific time. I don't think is a big of a problem, more like something normal. I just have AES games....I'm surprise no one else has posted their opinion.

This is a strange problem, I think the SVC problem is related to dirty cart or contacts, try giving them a good clean. If the SVC is a MVS cart running though a phantom1 then these sorts of errors can happen as it could be protection related.

The memory card situation is more weird and I need more information. You say no game is playable if a memory card is in. What do you mean by this, what actually happens? Do you get as far as the unibios splash screen?

I can see from your initial screenshot that the addresserror is caused by incorrect memorycard info. Can you check that the memory card is ok in another unit or even look at the memory card socket and make sure no pins are broke. You could also try a different memory card or format the one you have.

Unfortunately this is the only AES I have and this is also the only memory card I have.

The first couple of boots the memory card worked fine, but it's to the point now where any time I boot the system with the memory card installed the error message pops up and I am unable to get to the BIOS screen.

The seller offered to fix my unit free of charge ( :buttrock: ) so everything will be ok on my end eventually.

By removing the memory card the BIOS screen and everything else plays fine.

Forgot to mention that no pins were broken on the memory card slot, so is it possible for a memory card to get nuked and unusable?

Well the grren message does also happen when I boot the game up. Morelikely because is not insert well. Even with metal slug 5 which is basically new, but when I reinsert it eveything works fine. I don't have the same issue with the momery card so yea, praedicator might have a different problem.

What actual error message do you get when the memory card is in, the same one as the one shown in your first post or is it different? If its different then take a photo. Also at the error screen press 'd' to get to the memory Viewer. Then scroll so memory location 10fd00 is at the top of the screen and take a photo, do the same for 800000. You can use buttons A,B and C to speed scroll.

You should also try formatting the memory card. You should beable to do this by keeping the card out of the system, then power on and hold buttons A+B+C+D pressed. Once at the memory card manager screen put the card in and select the format card option. If your going to try this please take those screenshots first that I mentioned of that memory region.

But are you sure your getting the same info in the green screen? I suspect your is related to how the game is inserted like you say. I can see from the screenshot that praedicator provided that the address error is being caused in the the bios code and not the game code.

Yes is the same message I get when I don't insert a game correctly, but after I boot it up again it doesn't happen again. I just tough it was normal.... :emb:

So you are sure every single number on the screen during that message is the same? every address and data register?

When the system initially boots up I am unable to do anything, neither the C nor D buttons will go anywhere. After going into the Memory Card Manager then inserting the card I was able to see the cards contents but it eventually gave me the same error before getting to the addresses listed above.

Formatting the card did not seem to work either, I would get the exact same error as before.

I'm sending the unit back for repair, so hopefully I can get a firm diagnosis of what went wrong when it gets back!

Thanks for all of your help Raz! :multi_co:

So your saying that from the error screen pressing C or D did nothing? Im beginning to think that either your card is faulty or there is a fault with the card socket on that system.

I know that the card worked in a previous AES system, but seems to make this system crash frequently. You're correct thtat pressing C or D does nothing at the error screen, but in the memory card manager I could see some of the memory card content before it would crash at the same error.

If it crashes in the memory card manager can you try pressing D from there to get to the memory viewer and then take those screenshots of addresses 10FD00 and 800000. The buttons should work from there.
