Questions

Since i just got a Street Fighter Limited Edition Ryu Controller that my mom
bought & it's a good thing she picked one up because it was the last
one left & i decided not to open it up because i am keeping it sealed & it
might be a collector's item someday, plus the Chun Li & Ken controllers too.

So anyways if i buy a Super Nova from Mas systems to play Arcade Motherboards
on my 52-inch Toshiba big screen Tv that i have in my bedroom.

If i buy more Street Fighter Limited Edition controllers, where can i send the
controllers in so they will work on the Super Nova Arcade Unit?

I mean where can i send them in to be modified?

I heard about people saying that you have to cut the wires from the mas
controllers cord & then open the Ps2 controllers & cut those wires from them.
plus soldering the wires in the area's so i can use a six buttion controllers
on the Super Nova Unit. :)

Can someone please  explain to me how to do it & where i could
send them in to have them playable on it.

Also can i sell the mas controllers without the cords & then sell the Ps2 cords
with the mas controllers together & have them wire it to the mas controllers
& then sell them or just send them with the controllers so that when someone
buys them from me & sends them in the be wired to the mas controllers to play on
there Ps2 console's. :)

Please get back to me as soon as possible. :)

You can Email me or send a private message if anyone wants to okay.

Regards,

Shawn Carr

Modding one of those controllers to use on your Supergun wouldn't be too hard. You would just have to open the controller, remove the Playstation board and encoder, wire the buttons to a DB15 extension cable (using the corresponding pinout), and voila! It works. The only difficulty I could foresee would be figuring out the exact pinout that was used for your Super Nova, but that wouldn't even really be that hard to find out. I suspect that quite a few members on this board would be more than capable of doing this, so perhaps someone would step up to the plate for you. :D Good luck.

 Thanks for the info squareh4t3r that was very helpful & since i am
disabled maybe i could ask my mom's boyfriend to make the Street Fighter
controller that i have because work. he worked for one place that wire's, modding
& testing computers & many other thing too. Or maybe i will ask someone
on the forums or maybe Kennyboy to do it for me like, two controllers for the
Super Nova Arcade unit.

One other thing, can the mas controllers be modded with a Ps2 cord so
other people can use them on there Ps2 console unit & how much could
i sell the mas controllers that are unplayed for.

Maybe around $200 a piece i think. I am not sure. :)

Thank You,

I'm replying if you promise not to use that much smileys next time, and please write clear questions in clear English. English is my third language and I can't understand half your writing.

To use a PS2 pad in a supergun, you need to mod it so that it won't work anymore in the PS2. I think the supernova uses 25 pins controller port, the same as computers parallel port, so you can use a regular printer cable for the mod.
Another possibility is to buy a PSX->Neo Geo adapter, and then construct an adaptor from Neo Geo to supernova.

To use supergun controllers in the PS2, you need to sacrifice a PS2 controller and construct an adaptor from its guts. You just can't "cut the cables from each controller and swap them so that they both now work on the other system".

Well, actually, you don't have to sacrifice the PS2 functionality. You could simply mount a DB15/25 connector on the back/side of the joystick and wire it up accordingly. Then, you would only need to purchase an extension cable to run between the joystick and the Supernova/encoder box.

Yep. But I was just curious, what was the reason for the quotes around that last sentence? I am probably just being paranoid, but were you taking aim at me, Amano? I never stated that you can just cut the cables from each controller and swap them, so I am assuming that I am just being paranoid. :D

No, that quotations were aimed at boogbutt, as that was more or less what he was suggesting in:

About leaving the chip connected, there is a big chance that it won't work in the supergun if you do that, specially with certain JAMMA boards that are picky with it. It's all a matter of chance, it depends on the design, so it may work.
In any case, PSX controllers are pretty cheap, and actually, the cheaper they are the easier to mod are they.

Glad to see that I am just being paranoid.

Anyway, if worse comes to worse, you could always pull the PCB from the stick, wire it up with a DB15/25 connector, and make a converter box out of the guts. MKL posted some pics of how he did it with an Agetec Dreamcast stick, and it turned out nice. Just an idea.

Why ruin a neat controller.

Just get a Neo->psx adaptor and hack the shit out of that.
