So are you buying the Trilogy on legit DVD, or not?

I don't want to know how he ruined the films we've all come to enjoy, how he is Satan incarnate (he's not, I am) or anything else, jsut whether you plan on buying the DVDs (legit ones, not boots) at some point.

I've shamed myself, I am buying the legits. I can't bring myself to buy only the bootlegs, so unfortunately I preordered the legits 5 minutes ago and will hunt out a good bootleg copy of the originals. I don't buy bootleg Anime, so movies really shouldn't be any different. I don't look down on anyone that buys the boots on this one though...

i'm not gonna buy, my VHS special editions will have to do for now. I'll probably rent them though to see what scenes were ruined.

I'd rather buy a copy of The Fugitive where everyone's voice is dubbed by Carrot Top and Dr. Kimble *actually* kills his wife. It'd be more true to the original.

Yes, I wish he'd left 'em the fuck alone, Greedo should've never shot first.

Yes, I'm still buying 'em. I'm a lifelong Star Wars fanboy. I'll still be stoked to watch A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, along with the new Empire Of Dreams documentary. Return Of The Jedi will probably get watched maybe once, if at all.
If anything, the new-school trilogy just made these older flicks seem even better.

I see a lot of Yes votes but no posts. Bunch of chickenshits. :eye:

I've got the originals on VHS. As soon as I can scrape up the cash to buy a dvd recorder, I'll probably burn 'em on dvd. As for these latest releases, George can suck on t3h Sn0tt4Y P0w4R RawD!!11!

Nope.

I own the originals and the Special Editions ('97) on VHS already, and that's quite enough for movies that I've always thought were horrendously overrated in the first place.

I've heard the Making-Of Doc is really good, though, so I'll probably try and find the fourth disc online.

I'm sure I'll get them, but I don't have them now and haven't ordered yet, so I'm not sure how I'm supposed to vote. But yeah, I'll definitely have them by Christmas at the latest.

Seeing as how I'm a pretty big Star Wars geek, yes I am, they're ordered from Amazon. However, unlike the rest of the Star Wars idiots, the only other versions I own of these films are the mega old CBS-FOX VHS editions, complete in their dusty, untouched and unchanged versions. Works for me, I'm just excited to hear these films in amazing 5.1 surround sound and see just how crisp they've managed to get them.

Aside: I just read that in one of the extra features, Lucas mentions he almost inserted a shot of Boba Fett escaping the Sarlacc. The only reason the character dies so pitifully is that he didn't think he would become so popular.

I will pick them up used for like $15 at gameXchange.

I don't have any of the star wars on video yet.. I never owned a lazerdisc and I threw out the vhs player some years ago.

I'm not old enough to have seen the original Star Wars in theaters, but I did watch the vhs special edition when it came out. What he has doen goes against the special edition code.

I've never owned them all (I've had a really old VHS copy from a video store), and this seems like the best way to finally have them.

Someone already posted a review, it looks like they toned down the worst of the "Special Edition" changes.
