I heard about the PSTwo about a month ago when I went to buy a PS2 for a cousin's birthday. I went to a mall and all three gaming stores were out of stock and all said the same thing - - Sony is cutting back production of the PS2 in order to pump out the new model.

Cant wait to see what it looks like. I hope the design is more inspired than the original model's.

Rumor has it that Sony will anounce the PStwo tomorrow. If the information I saw was right, it will be out November 4th.

This sounds very interesting, my mind is imagining a slightly sleeker, black version of the PSONE.

Does anyone have a link for more information/substantiation...

I will watch the gaming news venues closely tommorow.

I don't know it will be THAT small...

But Sony has been know to work some magic.... Just look at the PSP, that thing is somewhere between the PS1 and PS2 in terms of processing power, and that is fairly small.

One thing for sure is it will be SMALLER, lighter, sleeker, and probable to have a Attachable LCD to buy seperately...

So instead of it being a big black box filled with shoddily made and put together Sony parts, it's a smaller black box filled with shoddily made and put together Sony parts?

But it looks "cooler" and will add an extra two inches of space to clustered entertainment centers everywhere, so I guess it will sell thousands.

OMG, guess what?

An N-Gage and a Nintendo DS is also more powerful than a PS1 and less powerful than a PS2. Magic! ;)

Hmmm..may have to get myself one of those, so I can have a decent-working PS2.

Edit: How the hell is the modem supposed to work with that thing, though?

At this point, I don't consider this to be more than a rumor. I mean it's supposed to be so close to release yet there is no real info on this at all. If they were trying to cash in a little more before the release of PSP and PS3 in a year or two, I would assume this machine will be heavily advertised.

One more thing, is it just me or does that pic looks so "ph0t0sh0p" .. seriously .. it looks so fake.

It doesn't seem like it will support the BB adaptor or has an expansion slot at all. And how the hell are they expecting to sell something that looks almost exactly the same as the previous PS2.

I've been considering a PS2 now, after selling it almost a year ago, namely for the DMC3, and VJ2 .. but if the PStwo looks like that, I am better off buying one right now .. unless that thing has some extra features.

I think the new model looks rather sexy!

Its kinda lame though that the old multi tap dont work with it, probably because of the width between the controller port and memory card being different sizes.

Just looked at that last link you posted. So I have to take back what I said about it. It actually does look alot better than the first one. The difference in sizes is amazing .. however, the HDLoader in this case is out of the question? Unless ...

Top loading sucks. However this maybe means it will be easier to play imports on it

My PS2, bought on launch day 4 years ago, is still working but has some trouble loading certain imports due to my ghetto first gen modchip, and the dual shock 2 also starts acting funny. I've been thinking of buying another one, and definately, if this "PStwo" can have a decent modchip installed, count me for one :buttrock:

By the way, this sucks:

The Multitap for the current model cannot be used with the new model

WTF? Isn't the controller port the same? Why not put 4 damn controller port in the console itself?

I believe the mulit tap plugs into both the memory card slot and the controller slot.
The width between them is might be slightly different between the two.

Also, kinda odd to see the U.S. is getting this before Japan, but only by a few days.
