How do you store your game controllers?

I put mine in a box, each individually wrapped in a zip-block bag to prevent wire tangling (it only took me about 14 years to realise that'd be a good idea instead of going through hell every time I wanted to get a controller).

I'm looking for a better idea since the box is getting annoying; digging through shit to find shit and whatnot.

reserve a space in your closet and get those hangers that have the lil clips on em and hang a controller on each one.

i wrap the cord around the controler, and use a rubberband to keep it tied. i usually end up throwing controlers in a box as well...

...the box is unavoidable...

I wrap cords up (not around the controller) with a rubber band and store them in one of those vertical plastic bins with different drawers.

Works for me.

I've been told that it's better wrap the cord away from the controller, as just looping it around the controller can put unecessary strain where the cord is connected to the pad...

just thought I'd give that tip for your consideration
;)

I usually don't unplug them or anything, but I will sort of wrap up the cord (not around the controller) and make it so it's more difficult for them to get tangled. It still looks like utter $hyte though, I must admit.

This almost as bad as this post does it really matter, as a real player they just get put in a cupboard when I've finished using them, don't really give it much thought as per 99% of people.

I use those plasic drawer sets to keep controllers that I don't use away.

Then I have this big ass peg board that I got from CVS.
Some controllers I keep in Zip Lock Bags hanging on those pegs,Light guns etc.

Others that I use alot..I have sitting one behind the other on these long two by two pegs on that peg board.

Neo Sticks/pads and some hard to find controllers I keep in Zip Lock Bags and to the side.
Arcade sticks I keep wrapped in the plastic they came in....in the boxes they came in or clear plastic bags I put them in.
I usually wrap each wire with a rubber band.

I have too many controllers.

DO NOT wrap the cord around the controller! It puts unnecessary stress on the controller wire going into the controller. When I was working at EA Tiburon one of the Leads flipped the fuck out when someone wrapped the wire around the controller, because the equipment is suppose to last 10+ years. So yes, if the controllers are in storage, I loop them and put a rubberband around the loop.

I don't store my controllers, they are always plugged into the system. If I have to travel for some reason then I simply fold up the chord from the base out end over end until a weird figure eight has formed, then I bunch them up into one and rubber band em'.

Rubberband, just like with any other cable that is too long.

I use plain old kitchen twist ties to keep the cords wrapped together and then chuck the controllers I'm not using in a big ol' cardboard box.

The people who say 'don't wrap the cord around the controller' are right, it does eventually kill the controller. If you really insist on storing them that way, you should grab the cord about an inch or after it enters the controller, and start wrapping from there. That gives the cord some leeway, and helps take some of the strain off.

ill wrap my cords around till the day i die. as long as youre not pulling on em like a maniac, nothing is gonna happen.

i used to keep em in bags, i still try to, but lately i dont, and i just throw em in the little cabinet in my entertainment center

this is nothing like that. this is a topic about storage, not condition.

W0rd, likewise mine are thrown on the floor like a filthy whore after they're used, never had a problem. Besides they are controllers, meant to be fucked up and shit.

Back in the NES days I used to wrap them around the controller, then once my wires got all kinked and fucked up, I stopped that.

Now I kinda loop them like the way they come when you buy them, then wrap twice around the loop then through one looped end.

I actually need a second one of those for SF3:TS :p.

I subscribe to the feel good aka random heap of wires method.

Amen. I've always prefered wireless controllers. Keeps everything so clean to be able to just leave the controller laying on the table with no worries of wires everywhere.
