In reply to my response in the following thread:

http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100235

I am not trying to say that Alan (bogsie) is a potential scammer. He feels that I may have hindered any possible sales he has here. I, in no way, have insinuated that he is here to cheat any of you. I did comment on the fact that it looked as if he was selling his RARE carts to "PURCHASE" the 2-Slot from KPJ. If you are considering buying from him, go ahead. I have no reason to beleive that you wont get what you paid for. However, I did mention that he had 0 feedback as a seller here and he would have to go "THE EXTRA MILE " to sell his products here since he is one of our new members.

I have sent him links to the threads containing 60bucks and Aaron lewis as references as to why I have made the statements I have in this thread. If anyone feels I was out of line here then so be it. I am here to help make sure that all members here..including, bogsie and KPJ get a pleasant buying/selling experience.

This is the PM he sent me:

Misunderstading

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,
With reference to your posts regarding kennys consolized MVS. Yes, maybe i did word my initial post incorrectly - i 'll be the first to admit that. I did however discuss payment terms with kenny before using the buy it now option on ebay and he agreed fully with them. The last thing i want to do is obtain a bad reputation on these forums - I am relatively new to the scene after wanting an AES system for many years. I agree that i dont have any feedback on here, nor do i have many/any posts. I do however feel that you could actually check your facts before posting derogatory remarks about me. As things are now i dont feel that there is any point whatsoever in trying to sell my AES items - or any other Neo Geo related items - as you have painted such a bad picture of myself as a potenial trader already. Many thanks for such a welcome

Here is my response:

Bogsie,

I have apologized to you and KPJ in your thread. There are rules to the selling forum that people do not follow. Kenny is a freind of mine... and with that being so, if I feel that he or any other member on this site is going to be in some sort of predicament, I am going to say something. I NEVER labeled you as a scammer. I said that with you having 0 posts and no references here as a seller it is going to be hard for you to sell members those games. That is just how things are around here. There are plenty of new members that show up here with RARE items for sale. The NEO is a cash cow that is ready to be exploited at a moments notice.

http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99169

Read through this thread about another new member with RARE titles for sale. I am not saying that you are going to do this. I am merely stating that this is why it is hard for new members to sell RARE games. If your intention was to make your purchase by selling these games to get the money to pay KPJ, then this is a bad situation for KPJ.

http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15028&highlight=aaron+lewis

Another thread of a new member making deals to cover other deals. You may want to take this personal.. sorry if thats how you feel.. but you have 0 references and you come out of the blue with about $2000 USD worth of games. You want to move them quickly ... but no one here knows you. You also posted conversions which is a definite no-no. That clearly shows that you dont know the rules to being a member here. Instead of trying to be the victim here... maybe you should look at the big picture. Whether it's you or any other member that comes along.... if something doesn't look right I am going to speak up about it. Even if it's someone I see tring to scam you. I want peoples experience here to be pleasant. Sorry if you cant see that.

As for selling your items here..... people will buy your items.... however, since you are new, members will ask for alot of pics.... and since you dont have any selling references here, you will be asked by potential buyers to send the cart to them first before receiving money. I dont ruin people's reps here. I try to help and inform them when possible. I am going into my 3rd year of being a member here and anyone will tell you that I am fair. In fact, I have free webspace you can use to host your pics if you dont. It's up to you how we progress from here. The ball is in your court.

Dont worry man. I posted the exact same thing about this here http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100152 . In it bogsie asks me not to insinuate that he cant pay for the system. But he himself makes it sound like he dousnt have the money without selling his AES games in the post above mine.
All I know is that if I was selling somthing to someone. And the buyer posts something like that the next day then I would be pissed off. Thats why I decided to butt in and say something.

I'm totally with you on this,Phil.

With the mods being on extended vacation/leave of absence,I feel the need that, we,as a community, need to police our own,and take extra precautionary steps when undergoing transactions with newcomers with no positive feedbacks as a seller/buyer.

Bogsie,as a new member with no feedback,be prepared to send your items first,if you wish to gain trust,or build your reputation as a seller. No offense to you,but this is just how it goes around here, all in the name of good faith. Every respectable member here have gone through that very same redemption process,so please do not take offense if someone, with a good rep/feedbacks,of course, asks you to send first.

You have my support to on this one Phillip. I also am sick and tired at all the BS that seems to be going on these days on these forums. As BIG Pscyco said above the mods seem to be away on a long and never ending vacation. It would help if they did one or both the following:

1) Mod the forums for a change
2) Elect new mods on the boards. My vote goes to people here who actually make posts and contribute to this community and those with impecable reputations. People like: Bulletnyourass, BIG Physco or xtoo_short20.

Regardless, keep up the good work Phillip. Good to see someone who actually cares to voice a non-bias opinon and who cares about this community.

Bulletnyourass - By the way did you get the inserts?

The institution of a Shit List would be a step in the right direction:

1............2

Also, I believe every member involved in the trade or purchase of merchandise through this site should receive a transaction rating... it would work much like the eBay feedback system. Somewhere within each user's profile should be a link to his/her transaction rating. Each rating would be submitted by a buyer/seller along with a sentence encapsulating the transaction (with such information as ease of communication, shipping time, and quality of packaging,) the transaction should also be deemed either positive or negative. At the top of the page should be the total positives and negatives received. Sellers with little to no positives (or any amount of negative feedback) should expect to send out the package and wait until it's received before payment is sent from the buyer (given that the seller is dealing with a buyer that has a positive transaction rating.)

I understand that the feedback forum is supposed to function in this capacity but it's just too scattered.

I have no idea how much bandwidth this would consume... is it even feasible? The combination of the Shit List and the implementation of a transaction rating should make the feedback forum obsolete... that would free up some space.

I recognise your user id from ebay - maybe you should do a link straight to your feedback for people to check like this:

http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws1/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=kr1-s&ssPageName=STRK:ME:UFS

On this site, trust must be earned, so phillip has my 100% support with the way he has handled himself, very professional.

So Bogsie, start the link to your feedback and that will help you sell on here 100X better than not having a link, trust me, Ive sold neo carts in the uk on ebay for 4 years now, but I had to start from scratch on NG.com before buyers would trust me to buy games from me - as we all know we have to be careful nowadays unfortunately :(

STFU Jorge. They were PLAINLY listed as conversions. If you'd learn HOW TO READ, maybe you wouldn't be posting false remarks, idiot.

Stinky-Dinkins,

This sounds like a very good idea to me. Something around here definitely needs to be done as stealing is becoming more prevalent in these forums nowadays.

Just a note about the fellow complaining about the member jackiechan, I had a great transaction with him -no problems whatsoever. Maybe there is some other explanation. Try resolving the issue with him before condemning him absolutely.

Phil,

I also support you 100%. THere seems to have been a lot of scamming going on as of late. I don't think you implied that boogie was a scammer...i think you are just warning ppl when dealing with n00bs. Being a n00b sucks sometimes cause you gotta pay your dues and prove your trust. You just can't expect ppl to shell out hundreds of dollars to someone who has absolutely NO feedback and very low posts.

Thanks for your honest opinion and you helping us out...you are the best!

That may be true sometimes (like last year I helped with noticing aaronlewis was a scammer and GamesOn_Games), but I just got scammed by 60Bucks, Moe Hatoum, out of $400.00 and a few others backed this guy saying they had good transactions with him so I decided to buy from him. His prices seemed too good to be true, but then again a few others had some of the same games for sale and no one was buying theirs either for only a few dollars more. One thing I have learned now is that unless the member has a well-established buying/selling record here, I will not buy from him anymore. We really need to secure down these forums some way. Almost makes me afraid to keep collecting Neo stuff right now. I know I will not be a buyer for a little while after this incident with 60Bucks. I know people will hate this suggestion, but I wish we had to register here like on eBay with a credit card and so on (I know this has been suggested in the past several times). Definitley would knock down the scamming a little, but nothing will stop it totally! And I like Stinky-Dinkins idea, but securing with a credit card would be an added bonus. And I was 17 when I got my first credit card, so it is not hard to get one as a student. And for anyone younger then that, they should be able to be on the forums but cannot sell, unlessr they can try to use their Mom or Dad's credit card. Thanks for listening!
