Kull - 1997
Great acting, convincing modern special effects, well written script, superb cast of actors... this movie has none of that, but it does have Kevin Sorbo swinging around a sword with his shirt off killing stuff, so it's all good.
KULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Surf Ninjas - 1993
A pair of Californian brothers (and idiotic friend Rob Schneider) unexpectedly find out that they are infact crowned prince's of a small island nation that is under threat of being overthrown by the maniacal half-man, half-robot Colonel Chi (Leslie Neilson) and the only way to take it back and regain their rightful place as rulers is to fight back an army of troops using surf boards, Game Gears, and ninjitsu.
(you can't make that stuff up folks)
Oh yeah, and Tone Loc busts some phat rhymes too - now that's quality.
Last Action Hero - 1993
Yeah, yeah... because I just said I like this movie, my already worthless opinion is now beyond the point of redemption - OK, I'll go on now that you're finished.
Obviously, the film was never meant to take itself seriously, and perhaps that's why I like it -- it's chock-full of action movie cliches, one-liners, corny dialogue, tongue-in-cheek humor, and stupidly unrealistic action sequences... but I like that stuff under certain circumstances.
Just as long as you know you're about to watch a bad movie and not take it so seriously, then I don't see why people slam this movie so badly.
Waterworld - 1995
Wait a second... first he admitted that he liked "Last Action Hero" and now he's admitting that he likes "Waterworld"?
Yep, I am - deal with it bitch.
I know people love to put down this movie, but I honestly think it's not nearly as bad as some have made it out to be... it's not great (or even good), but there's enough explosions and cool action sequences to keep me watching all the way through. And with such high production value, it's easy to ignore Costner's flat, unconvincing acting and instead focus on the rather extensively magnificent scenery being blown up and shot at by well-coordinated stunt men.
It also tells a decent post-apocalyptic story with a watered-down [<-joke] and slightly more scaly version of Mad Max (The Road Warrior version.) While it's certainly nothing creative, it does set a decent background for the overly predictable journey that Costner and crew inevitably go on.
I could think of a ton more, but these are the few I happened to notice while browsing through my video collection. While I'll admit that none of these movies are actually good, they are certainly movies that I can enjoy watching every now and then -- besides, I'm sure you all feel the same way about certain movies, so feel free to share and lift the heavy burden you have for liking "bad" movies.
