MY GOOD GOD IN HEAVEN!

Dual Opterons, each with their own memory bank for NUMA, and dual 16X PCI-Express slots for SLI configuration of nVidia's new graphics cards.

Dual Dual Core Opterons, each with its own bank of 1Gb of memory, and then dual 6800 Ultra's in SLI mode, running with a RAID 0 Config for storage.

We're talking the ultimate in "Dual" configurations man. With a system like that we could get a game the scope of BF1942 or Operation Flashpoint with the graphics of Doom 3.

It's nice to see Nvidia is finally making use of the 3dfx assets they bought years ago.

My Asus A7N8X Deluxe Nforce 2 still does the job fine for me. It will be a while before I upgrade again :glee:

Yeah I know, I'll be running on my nForce2 for a long time to come.

Dual core Opterons/Athlon 64's will be the next CPU(s) I buy.

All depends on what games are coming out by then though, if we've got massive games like UT2k4/BF1942 or lord willing Operation Flashpoint 2 with Doom 3 type graphics, I just may go for the SLI videocards.

Still the fact that this kind of thing is going to be available? Drool worthy IMO.

From what I have heard, Doom 3 is not by far enough reason to upgrade your PC. I can't stand overly dark graphics (which D3 has in abundance), I'd much rather see bright, colorful stuff like the graphics of Serious Sam FE and SE (and soon to be 2).

So far nothing has made me want to upgrade my old GeForce 3, which is still running most games on my old P4/1.8 just fine.

i'd like to see a new Tribes game w/ Doom 3 style graphics & taking place in whole cities and you can go anywhere!!!

Doom 3 has its fans and its detractors, which is fine.

But not finding a good reason to upgrade your configuration?

And to a lesser extent, though way inline with your love of Serious Sam, Painkiller.
