Lately my Impress Cab has been acting up for some reason. Whenever I turn it on the screen starts to flicker a little causing a little popping sound. It goes away for a little while then it comes back. What is wrong with it someone please I mean please :help: me.

Make sure all the wires on the power supply are on good..

Check for loose wires and dirty connections..

Also try adjusting the 5V line, perhaps the PSU is giving a little too much voltage.

Ok I did checked the lines and I check the voltage still the same problem but not as bad. It never did this before it just started doing this all of a sudden.

What did the voltage read on your power supply..?

It didn't have any numbers on the nob so what I did was turn the voltage completely down to where I wouldn't get a picture on the cab then slightly turned it up to where it was running properly and still had the same problem. What I'm going to do is take it apart and clean it up because I seen alot of dust on the machine and around the monitor. Hopefully that it's the dust that making it do this.

Ohhh..

You really need to take a reading of the voltage on the power supply with a Digi Meter/Ohm meter..

Just for the proper voltage..
Having this voltage to high could fry your board even though it makes the monitor work right.
The PS could be going bad..
I had a problem similar to yours in my Big Red when I first got it.
I too used to adjust the knob to get the cab working right..the monitor would look all garbled and unclear until I just turned the knob enough...
The Power Supply was going bad...If it wasn't bad all that time.

This was before I knew about the meters..and this place..
After I came hee I got a meter/tested the voltage and though it was near 5V it was a bit too high.
I replaced the Power supply with a new/correct power supply and the cab is Totally working fine now and at a lesser voltage..5V..though I forget what it is ..
It's what the techs here say is the voltage it should be at..

I no longer get any problems or a pop when I turn on that cab.
I used to hear a pop when I turned on the Big Red..though I think that's just sound from the speakers/mother board.
For some reaso I no longer get that..Atleast not as loud..

The old power supply was just bad in general..

I'm not saying this is what's your problem..
But to ensure proper operating voltage for your cab you must test using a meter..
or problems can occur.

Cabs and voltage meters go hand in hand..
