Can you do me a favor and look in last months issue (the one about maximizing your broadband experiance or some bullshit like that) and find the article about spyware messing up the tcp stack so that wifi wont work.

I just need the name of the program that fixes it.

I'm looking for it, but I can't find it... Do you remember approximately where it was?

It was one of the editorials, he starts talking about his summer house and vacationing and stuff and his laptops. Toward the back

I have the magazine in front of me and can't find what you are talking about. In another issue they suggested "webroot spy sweeper" and it cleaned up my PC. I had 8 files that spybot and my nortons would find but could not delete and that program cleaned me up.

It was a recent issue, might have been the one before or after that one, Im not sure.

But it was about his laptop not being able to connect to his wifi, but it worked directly connected to the modem, so he did this program thing that cleared the registry for his tcp shit, and it fixed it.

EDIT: thanks soniku!

Yeah, it makes a back-up of your registry, then fixes/adds to whatever it thinks was corrupted/deleted by spyware, and the like.

Basically it does a partial WinSock reset.

Oh yeah, and don't use the Microsoft BS solution according to him.

Edit: Anytime :)

Just fixed the thing, hopefully it fixes the problems my friend has been having with his laptop connection just cutting off.
