I'm quitting my job Sept. 15 because classes are getting more and more rigorous. 9/15 will mark the 9 month Anniversary I've been working there, and with new management effective as of a few days ago, I felt this was a perfect time to leave.

The only other time I quit was from Blockbuster in August 2001. Was there for 10 months and sure as hell reaped my employee benefit of 5 free rentals a week. Quit b/c I was gonna start up college.

You guys?

I haven't quit any jobs.
If I have left a job, it was due to the fact that I had a better offer from a different company.

Well I've never been fired from any of the W-2 applicable jobs I've had, and quit outright before one boss could have the satisifaction of firing me... thus I'd have to say {Since I'm a Merc/Freelancer: self employed these days} that I have quit NINE times. These days I'm an on again/off again Bouncer for a private club that changes it's locations from time to time, I do Auto Recovery Work {legally boosting cars} and anything where I'm either the boss of myself or the work is extremely felxible... I cannot tolerate the corporate horeshit most eat up for 35 years or so and then retire to more crap. If ever I did work for "The System" again I'd probably have to add those NINE times a few more times.

I quit at McD's when I got a better job over 7-8 years ago. Then I quit that job when I got a job where I am now. Been here for almost 4 years now.

All my 'quitting' was 2 weeks notice and amicable. Hell, the last company I worked for told me if I ever needed a job, don't hesitate to come back.

I also quit EB amicably, it was a seasonal position after all.

I've quit 3 jobs.

I quit working for at one place because it was mind-numbingly boring, I quit working for pops because I left the state, and then I quit working at another job because of a better offer.

4 I think. I'm about to quit my current sweet job at the cable company and job back into near nothing pay to go back to college. It'll be the 1st time since 1998 I haven't had a full-time job. I'm spooked as hell too.

Will be quitting 28 Dec. Hope I can get a job then or it's gonna be real rough.

I've only quit in the sense that I had to go back to school or got a better paying job.

If I count them up right now:
Janitor
Produce Clerk
Wal-Mart Sales Associate
Mover
Factory Worker
Home Depot Sales Associate
QA Tester (on hold)
Teacher's Assisstant (current)

So I've quit 6 jobs I guess.

how was janitor work? i think thats what im doing next?

maybe i take one of those hotel janitor jobs i see pages of listings of every week. i think it might be hard though or else why are they always trying to hire them!?

i will not work hard. for $7 an hour i do $7 worth of work. which is like nothing except sitting and breathing.

i would like to be a sweeper though somehwere. for some reason i like to sweep stuff. its easy and plus you just just stand there and move your arms. when not looking u use it like a microphone. rub ur nipples while u jam on it. then sweep again.

btw anyone ever work as bellboy for a hotel? i always wanted to do that. whats best job to work at the hotel!?

Quit, none.
Been fired from , 11 and counting.
I figure instead of quiting I just become the worst employee I can be. Just to see how long they'll keep me around for before canning me. You'd be fucking amazed how long some have kept me around. You also can't draw unemployment if you quit.

PS-I'm being dead serious

I thought that you wouldn't get that job's reference towards another job if you were fired, though? I guess not? :help:

I was a janitor at a health club. I was 16, paid $7.25/hr, and I got a free membership. Work wasn't too hard. Just clean the windows, vaccum, keep the machines clean, and service the equipment when it needed to be.

Five.

1) Stocker at Jewel Osco, quit after five months out of boredom.
2) Then was a dog trainer, quit after seven months because the boss was psychotic and would beat the dogs.
3) Was a librarian for two weeks. Best job I've ever had though, incredibly relaxing, you could sit in a corner and read all day if you wanted, but the job took away time from my art.
4) Then was a children's book illustrator for a year and a half, quit because the company couldn't ever pay me on time and I got sick of it.
5) Game tester for six months, most dreadfully boring job in the history of mankind. Quit because even though they gave me awards (yes, apparently the field of game testing is prestigious enough to have awards -- one example is "Most Overtime" AKA "Most Easily Made the Company's Bitch in Crunch Time"), they wouldn't make me full-time.

I quit/fired a dishwashing job at this pseudo-Italian fast-food resturant because my boss was a bitch and I told him "I hope you die in a car wreck" and walked out.

I've been holding this dishwashing job (only if I'm working day shift) at a Pizza/Subs/Ice Cream resturant for over 2 months, I'm about to get a raise, me and 3 others just run the place so smoothly and since the owner is the acting day manager right now he notices how hard we work and we're bound for a raise any week now. And one of the other managers smokes us out on some killer weed while we're on the job, and since he doesn't give a fuck we all just make sandwiches for munchies and slack off and make all the new employees do the shit work.

I love my job. Too bad I'm probably headed to UAH soon because they've been sending me letters asking me to apply along with applications. I wouldn't get to kick it at work as much. It may be shit wages but there's always all the shit we get away with on the job that it's worth it.

Quit 1 job - I was at "Pratt's Warehouse" for 2.5 years and was a warehouse worker. Full time employee. I was a cigeratte picker. The pay was bad starting at $6.85. I should've ended up at $8.50 but it was $8.00 at the end of my 2.5 years there. Before I got that 50 cent raise I quite. 50 cent raise a year...whoopie...fuck that. Plus the job was stressfull even if it was in the warehouse. The long weekends on that job sucked ass. I dont even wanna go there. I deal with smokes and ship them to other towns in my province. There was 2 of us doing this...picker and packer. Ahh it was a good experience I guess. After I left...they called me back 2 months later and they wanted me to come back...lol. I didnt and they offered me a morning shift this time. I was working afternoons before. I told them straight out I was making more at the other job and Iam not gonna go back for less pay.

Currently Iam at a grocery store...easy work and more pay. I cant complain...even though Iam part-time Iam making more money then my full time job at Pratt's Warehouse. Ive been there for 2 years now. Not bad I guess...at least I get more then 1 raise a year now...lol.

It's easy as hell to weasel out of a new job calling your previous employer. Just put down "personal" as your reason for quiting on your resume. Then after the jobs section on your resume make a little note that says " do not connect previous employer, willing to dicuss why in person ". If you're slick about it you can use it to your advantage. Example of this.........

I had been fired from my last job for being a total slacker. Ended on very bad terms. During the interview at my new job I was called into the supervisor's office. Luckily most office workers spend so much time at work their offices quickly begin to look like their bedrooms. First thing I noticed was his family pictures on a shelf, one of which was a younger man in a military uniform. Picture was taken in a desert. Bingo, that was perfect.

Shortly into the interview he brought up why I didn't want him contacting my previous employer. I told him my former boss and I had gotten on horrid personal terms over a political debate. Explained to him he ease-dropped in on a conversation me and a co-worker were having. I further explained to him how I was defending our troops honor and how proud I was of them protecting us. And how my supervisor had a very "anti-military" viewpoint, that he even went as far as to say once " our troops all deserve to die slowly for doing the bidding of evil Bush".

I knew that picture was his son, his son was a marine who served in Desert Storm. Any father of a marine who's served in a war is gonna have a strong place in his heart for all the armed forces. So my new supervisor was instantly proud of me being a supporter of our troops. Even more proud that I was willing to stand up to my former boss and land up getting fired protecting their honor. I was hired on the spot, the interview pretty much ended after that conversation took place.

I have quit two jobs within the last year.

One I regret now. I had full benefits(401k), free tuition reinbursement including a 5 credit course I could have for free at my ex-Community College job.

Quit 3, myself. Been out of work for the past 6 months or so. I want to start working again, but most of what I've done in the past is fast-food places and those get really tedious after the first couple of weeks.
