More Out Run 2 Goodness...

Well, here are the first screenshots I can find of the Daytona 2/ Scud Race tracks in the game.

It appears that they will be run in the classic Out Run style- race a lap, get on a connecting road, race another lap, repeat. However, the music from Daytona 2 and Scud Race won't be included. Bummer... Aw well, at least it's better than nothing, and it'll do until those games get MAMEd.
And here's a gameplay video. I haven't downloaded it myself, so I don't know if it includes the Daytona 2/ Scud Race tracks, but I hear it's good, so check it out.

I'd like to add that the guy in the video playing sucks hard...

The track in the video looks a lot harder than what was in the arcade version.

This is the game I am most looking forward to this year...

Huh...The same one in Daytona 2 That track is cake...He's not power sliding properly...(And yes I've played BOTH Daytona 2 and Outrun 2 in the arcades). I'd know because I've got some high TA times in my local arcade...

just to be a pessimistic asshole, the daytona 2 music isn't that great.
and that's not daytona USA bias there.
it's pretty bland as a racing soundtrack.

If u have xbox, u can download the demo. Demo is worth it, has one full level for A Track.

Played the full thing on xbox, it totally kicks arse

you need a mod chip as it was leaked, most good p2p groups should have it by now

It was about time since a new game excited me so much.

Looking foward to get this one.

Hope it's really 60fps since the start to the end of the game.

I've played the leaked demo last night (mille gracie, Stefan!), and all I can say is - AWESOME.

Thoroughly reworked visuals, arranged soundtrack (featuring updated versions of the original tracks like Passing Breeze, Magical Sound Shower, etc.) and cool controls Out Run style. And the best: The game seems to be more than just a quick way to milk some cash with a big name, it's Out Run through and through, only with modern graphics and sound and some updates (car color select, online feature, different cars, extra play modes, etc.).

The demo lets you test-drive three sections, but only of the Easy category, all other tracks are locked, but what's there is excellent and makes waiting for the real thing even harder.

One more thing, you can choose between automatic and manual gear, there's no Hi-Lo anymore.

...and the girl in your car is hilarious. She used to bash on the driver in the original game, but now she corrects her hair after a crash, shakes her head, puts her arms in the air if your skills are good enough, etc. Very nice.

Tracks look awesome from what I've seen so far. Great graphics, cool light/weather changes, perfect arcade racing atmosphere with really insane slides.

In short - If I'm not totally mistaken, this is going to be my racer of the year.

I love you, Sega.

I demand a remake of Hang-On.

The demo is'nt leaked when you preorder Outrun 2 here in the UK for £3 you get the Demo Disk. Outrun 2 is being developed over here for the Xbox so Sega won't fuck it up and so we get Outrun 2 here before anyone

I pre ordered it last night at eb (I have a friend who works there, so I get on the pre order list for free) and they told me that its Oct 15th???

This game is going to rock the house...

I wish the old sega would come back... too few games like this
