Why has Metal Slug X's value gone up?

What's the deal with the price of Metal Slug X going up? It used to be rather reasonable.

Has the recently released PSX version bumped it up or something?

I have no idea. I just sold my US version and now I am trying to buy a Japanese version of MSX and now I can't find one for under $400, for a Japanese version!

Sounds good to me! Everyone tells me that Jap carts lose value...I'm glad I still have my "X" and 3

I think it's TonK.
The MSX price goes up after TonK trying to sell his AES and get MVS back..........

I think it has to do with people realizing that it realy is a quality game. For a while, Metal Slug 2 was worth a ton, but now that people are understanding what MSX really is (it seems quite a few don't), and the PS version hightening that awarness, more people are after it. Maybe?

I liked the color scheme in Slug 2 better. It seems in Slug X, that they really wanted to change things up a bit so people didn't feel like they were playing the exact same game. However, I thought some of the colors they used for the backgrounds and foregrounds were out of place and didn't look right.

Actually home carts and MVS carts are exactly the same, as is the hardware itself. There is the same amount of slowdown on both the home cart version and the MVS version and the CD version.

I used to have CD system and have MS 1&2...
Actually I don't really care about slowdown in 2 coz I only care about gameplay.
Sometimes slowdown is so much fun coz your character, enemies , and other objects on the screen all move in a slow way......so fun to watch <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
I just don't like the loading during the mid gameplay....ggrrrrr

MSX is much better than MS2.There is no slow down, more weapons and it's more fun but why does it price rise?
I don't know.

If there are plenty of buyers that would be happy to pay more, would you honestly sell it for a lesser sum?

i actually just sold my MS2 on eBay last week, and i can attest to the slow down. the ngcd slow down's not too bad, but it's definitely noticeable and does detract from the game at times.

Why does the price of MSX rose?
You could as well ask: Why does the price of
ALL AES carts constantly rise? Just look e.g.
into the price guide: How many green arrows do you see? And how many red ones? It's simple - more and more collectors dont want
to part with their beloved carts any more and
the run of each of them was limited ...

I think the price has gone up due to several different things: 1. Shortage of supply as less MSX's get circulated 2. More sellers buying and then reselling at a higher price, and 3. Ebay, and other bidding wars. The thing is that everyone wants to "make" money when they sell instead of just selling for what they paid for it, in the end we are all at fault.

There is no difference in the amount of slow down wheather you are playing the game on Home Cart, MVS, or CD. It is the exact same game on all formats. However, if your talking about load times, yes the CD version has them. But actual game play is no different on any of the 3 formats.

Im probably gonna end up goin with the home cart and i dont care much about slowdown it actually sometimes helps me in MS2. Cause al the bullets move slow and its easy to dodge em. Slowdown also helps me in most shooters.

My guess would be due to the impression that many people have that Metal Slug X is a remixed and improved Metal Slug 2. If you had a choice to own only one of them, I would choose Metal Slug X.
